F*ck It, Let’s Go To Paris

Bonjour! I’m going on a new adventure, this time on the menu, 3 weeks of exploring the wonderful city of Paris. Without a concrete plan, but enough options to fill the agenda, I shouldn’t get bored.

Day 1 of course starts with the journey. Suitcase is (heavily) packed, hand luggage sits in the amazing bag gifted by the just as amazing Erica, so I’m ready to go! From Den Haag to Rotterdam, and then with the Thalys going 300km/h, it only takes a few hours to arrive at Gare du Nord, Paris.

Last time I was here, it was with Lisan, after our final year of hairdressing school, 8 years ago. We spend a few days in the city, and saw Mickey at Disney, so I kinda forgot how chaotic this city can be! With so many people walking around here, I was a little overwhelmed. When I found my busstop, I then crammed myself, and that big and heavy suitcase, in a over crammed bus. Fortunately it wasn’t a long drive to the Airbnb I rented, a small studio flat in the middle of Montmartre. And there is another thing I underestimated, and I laugh at myself big time here, which are those lovely steep streets. Especially with said suitcase, I arrived sweaty and thirsty at the building, figuring out for like 10 minutes how to actually get in.

When I finally managed, I was welcomed at the 7th floor by an amazing view over the city, so it was all worth it! I needed some groceries, after some rest of course, and to walk these streets is just the best. It was just a small trip to the supermarket and back, because sightseeing will start tomorrow. Can’t wait to see what I will discover the coming days!
